This tutorial will walk through the process of adding a listing as a property manager.
After logging into the site, click the "My Account" link at the top right of any page.
Once on your account page, click the "Add a new listing" link.
Here you can add your listing to your account by specifying the address.
First, type your full address into the field provided. Then, click the "Add" button.Notice that the field offers suggestions as you enter the address.
The page will now automatically fill out the specific address information from the full address you entered.Verify that the information is correct.
The option to display your property's address to others on the site is on by default.If you'd like to hide the address from others, you can unmark the checkbox.
The option to display your property on the site's map is also on by default.If you'd like to hide your property on the map, you can unmark the checkbox.
Once you've verified the information on the page, click the "Save & Continue" button.
Here you add additional location information.
First, verify that the address in the "Property Address" field is correct.
Then, make a selection from the drop-down menu underneath “Searchable Neighborhood / Location”.This is used to make your property searchable by a more general area.
Next, you can specify which type of students your property would be convenient for.You can select any number of the provided options.
Now, in the “Property Name / Headline” field, you can enter a name for the property.This is the name other users will see when they search for the property.
Once you're finished adding additional location information, click the “Save & Continue” button.
Here you add additional information about the listing and rent.
Start by selecting the building type that best describes your property from the drop-down menu.
Next, select the number of bedrooms for rent in the drop-down menu under “Bedrooms for Rent”.
Now, specify the number of bathrooms in your property using the "Number of Bathrooms" drop-down.
Optionally, you can specify the square footage of your property in the "Square Feet" field.
Now, in the “Total Monthly Rent” field, enter how much you'd like to charge per month for the property.
In the "Rental Type" field, specify whether the montly rent is for the entire property or for one unit or bedroom.
Now, you can optionally specify an amount for security deposit in the “Security Deposit” field.
Finally, you can optionally enter any specials that apply to your listing.
Once you're finished adding additional listing information, click the “Save & Continue” button.
Here you add occupant and availability information.
You can check the box for "Listing is for a sublet" if you are subletting.
You can check the box for "Roommate / shared situation" if you are looking for someone to live with you.
Next, you can specify the maximum number of occupants you want living in your property from the "Number of Occupants (Max)" dropdown.
Then, specify the day, or range of days, you'd like tenants to move in.
Clicking a date field brings up a calendar, which you can use to choose a specific date.
Once you're finished adding occupant and availability information, click the “Save & Continue” button.
Here you add information about your property's amenities and provide a detailed description for the listing.
In the "Parking" drop-down, select the option which best describes the parking available at your property.
In the "Pet Policy" drop-down, select your policy for pets at the property.
In the "Laundry" drop-down, select the option which best describes the access to laundry available at your property.
Next, specify your property's specific amenities from the lists of "Unit Features", “Community Features”, “Lease Information”, “Security” and “Utilities Included in Rent”.
Finally, provide a detailed description for the listing.This is a place where you can provide any important information you'd like to reiterate or that hasn’t already been specified elsewhere.
Once you're finished adding amenity and description information, click the “Save & Continue” button.
Here you add your contact information.
The "Contact Name", "Phone", and "Email Address" fields should already have your information filled in automatically.Verify the information is correct and make any necessary changes.
If you'd like to receive texts as well, specify the number which you'd like to receive them in the "Text Messages" field.
You are able to specify which hours would be best to contact you in the "Best Time to Call (Office Hours)" field.By default, this is set to "Anytime".
Once you're finished adding your contact information, click the “Save & Continue” button.
Here you can upload images of your property to your listing.
To upload an image from your computer, start by clicking the first "Choose File" button.
Choose an image file from your computer and then click the "Upload" button to save it to your listing.This window may look different, depending on your type of computer.
Once the image has uploaded, add a description in the "Description" field.
After you've uploaded multiple images, you can reorder them, by clicking the "Reorder" button and then clicking and dragging the images.
If you'd like to remove an image, you can click on the trash can icon in the top right corner of the image's information box.You'll be given a prompt to confirm your decision.
Once you're finished uploading images, click the “Save & Finish" button.
At this point, you have added all necessary information to your listing and can activate it by clicking the "Activate Listing" button.
